Willie's Stolen Armadillo Story Goes Mainstream
Mainstream media has picked up on the Willie Nelson stuffed armadillo mascot theft story...apparently, there are no trivialities when it comes to an American living legend...
Sometime after Nelson played his last song of the night at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester New York on September 19, 2013, set down his battered guitar and signed his last autograph, someone sneaked onto the stage and made off with the band's unofficial mascot: a stuffed armadillo.
The Nelson camp took to the singer's Facebook page to appeal for help in finding the taxidermy thief. Hundreds of fans have responded, offering their sympathy and calling for vengeance.
Well, time is running out for the armadillo bandit.
Mounting clues include pictures, a lead on the suspect’s name and her possible companion, and witnesses. Also gathering on the horizon: a posse of angry Willie Nelson fans and an enticing reward.
Texas Roadhouse, a chain of barbecue restaurants with ties to Nelson, is offering a $1,000 gift card for information leading to Ol’ Dillo’s return. Tipsters can call the restaurant at 800-TEX-ROAD. MORE HERE & HERE
