King Crimson Comeback
After a dispute with the Universal Music Group, King Crimson founder Robert Fripp swore that he would never reunite the band he had formed in 1968.
But with the legal issues close to a resolution, Fripp has confirmed that he will indeed reunite the progressive rock band next year. Fripp is calling the reincarnation King Crimson VIII. Fripp said that the band will feature seven players - three Americans and four Englishmen - and will carry three drummers. While the band is reforming, Fripp says that they will not be doing any extensive touring.
The band is set to release a 24 disc compilation live set titled "Road to Red". The set also includes a remixed version of "Red". The set is currently available for pre-order.
Fripp has stated that the new King Crimson line up is himself, Gavin Harrison, Mel Collin, Jakko Jakszyk, Bill Rieflin, Pat Matstelotto, and Tony Levin. MORE HERE & HERE
