27th Annual Farm Aid
The 27th edition of Farm Aid was held on Saturday September 21, 2013 in Saratoga Springs, NY.
Once again anchored by the four musician board members, Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp and Dave Matthews, the all day event also saw appearances by Jamey Johnson, Amos Lee, Jack Johnson, Kacey Musgraves, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Carlene Carter and others.
The big surprise of the day came with the appearance of an unbilled Pete Seeger who, at 94, said he doesn't "have much voice left" but that didn't matter to the crowd as they sang along with If I Had a Hammer and This Land is Your Land.
The other surprise came with Young's set where, except for Old Man and Heart of Gold, all of the songs were covers from some of Neil's favorite artists including Phil Ochs, Ivory Joe Hunter, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot and Tim Hardin. MORE HERE
