Dave & Phil Alvin : Big Bill Broonzy Blasters



A major early influence on players like Ronnie Wood and Eric Clapton, Arkansas-born Bill Broonzy cut a huge swath across American musical history with Saturday-night drinking and sexing songs like “I Feel So Good,” “How You Want It Done,” and “Trucking Little Woman.”

The brother-founders of explosive punk-era roots-rockers The Blasters reunite for their first album together in 30 years on Common Ground: Dave Alvin & Phil Alvin Play and Sing the Songs of Big Bill Broonzy.

Broonzy, who died in 1958, couldn’t find a more fitting resting place than between Phil’s deep-Ellum voice and his brother’s rocking guitar. MORE HERE & HERE
