Chad Smith/Will Ferrell Drum Battle

Much has been made of the similarities between Will Ferrell (above right?) and Red Hot Chili Peppers (and Chickenfoot) drummer Chad Smith (above left?).

Thanks to Funny or Die, the duo have kept the bit going with two Instagram videos. In the first, Ferrell says that it's "great to finally clear up the fact that I am Chad Smith." Smith doubles down on the joke, telling Ferrell to "stop impersonating me" and challenging him to a "drum battle." 

Ferrell has accepted Smith’s public challenge, promising “the greatest drum vs cowbell showdown the world has ever seen”.

The drum-off will apparently go ahead once Ferrell and Smith raise at least $300,000.00 for Cancer For College, a charity providing university scholarships to cancer survivors. Prospective donors can contribute HERE, with a chance to receive one of Ferrell’s autographed cowbells. MORE HERE & HERE
