News that the third and final day of the Austin City Limits Festival on Sunday (October 13, 2013) was canceled due to torrential rain and flash flood warnings sent Austin club owners and music promoters straight to their address books and Twitter, looking to capitalize on the chance to book headliner acts into small venues at the last minute.
Their degree of success depended on a lot of factors like timing, connections, tenacity and (always important) how much money they had to play with.
