Al Johnson, who made a name for himself in the world of soul music both as lead singer of The Unifics and as a producer, died early Saturday October 26, 2013. He was 65.
The Unifics, a group formed at Howard University in Washington, D.C. had a big hit with "The Court of Love." After another minor hit, "The Beginning of My End," the group split and Johnson began a long string as a session musician, songwriter, arranger and producer. MORE HERE & HERE
