Richard Hell Dreamed He Was A Very Clean Tramp
Richard Hell was partly responsible for the phenomenon of punk, a visionary whose style Malcolm McLaren imported to England and impressed upon his pet project, the Sex Pistols, who popularized and cashed in on Hell’s spiky hair, torn clothes and audacious attitude — embodied in his seminal record of 1977, “Blank Generation.”
In his new autobiography, “I Dreamed I Was a Very Clean Tramp,” Hell admits to resenting the Sex Pistols for failing to acknowledge how much they lifted from him. MORE HERE
