More than 60 years after he made his first recordings, Sam "Lightnin' " Hopkins was honored this week by the Recording Academy, the organization that stages the annual Grammy Awards.
The late bluesman was honored at a ceremony Saturday February 9, 2013 in Los Angeles, then will be acknowledged Sunday (February 10, 2013) during the 55th annual Grammy Awards telecast on CBS. MORE HERE & HERE

Along with music stars, pioneers and innovators such as the Temptations (above left), Carole King (above right), Charlie Haden, Glenn Gould, Patti Page and Ravi Shankar, Hopkins received the organization's Lifetime Achievement Award. MORE HERE
