The Blanco Sessions, the final album by rockabilly great Janis Martin, who along with Wanda Jackson was a true female rock pioneer is available for digital download and CD pre-orders.
The album, co-produced by Austin folk-country singer Rosie Flores and Bobby Trimble of Big Sandy and the Fly-Right Boys.
Janis Martin (1940-2007) proved during the mid-to-late-50s that she could hang with the big boys. She was a rare female rock and roller in a world dominated by males. Her rockabilly style and on stage antics earned her the label of the female Elvis. MORE HERE

I am a 62 yr old guy who loves Rock and Roll, but I had never heard Janis Martin...I sure have been missing out on a huge talent in this rockabilly lady. What a haughty, thick sound this R & R gal has to offer. She will be missed.
