Fear & Loafing in Pittsburgh

Meat-loaf

Four songs into his set at Pittsburgh's Trib Amphitheater Thursday July 28, 2011, 63-year-old Meat Loaf collapsed on stage and was down for about 10 minutes. Fans were fearing that he had a heart attack.
Amazingly, the big guy regained his composure and finished the show. He explained to fans what had happened before playing his signature hit, "Paradise by the Dashboard Light."
"I fucking fainted. I have asthma ... I can't breathe ... and then ... oh wait, I forgot ... I got poked by a pin and bled half to death ... and then I got slapped in the face and my tooth is loose."

Harrychapin

Bluesman

Harry Chapin was killed on the Long Island Expressway on July 16, 1981, several hours before he was to perform at a benefit concert — something he did often.

Entertainers, lawmakers and friends recall Chapin as a driving force behind making people aware of the issue of hunger in the United States and around the world. Chapin died several years before high-profile benefits like Live Aid became the norm, but many, including entertainer Harry Belafonte, credit Chapin for laying the groundwork. Belafonte says Chapin's social conscience came through not only in the lyrics of his songs, but in his actions offstage.
